The University of Malta LGBT Society
Aims
To
bring the LGBT students and staff together. To facilitate socialization
and
friendships.
To
organise activities aimed at the LGBT students and staff, but open to
anyone
who would like to participate (parties, debates, exchanges etc).
To
find out about opportunities for LGBT students and staff to travel
abroad to
conventions, conferences, seminars, camps or student exchanges and to
be their
source of information for all LGBT activities around Europe and the
world.
To
cater for those who are openly gay and for those in the process of
coming out.
To
represent the LGBT students and staff at University. To look out for
their
interests and be a channel to express their views.
To
educate, inform and offer a supportive and safe environment to lesbian,
gay,
bisexual and transgendered students and staff of the University
of Malta. It shall strive
to eradicate homophobia,
biphobia and transphobia and also promote tolerance on campus.
Ultimately,
to be there whenever we are needed. To provide help, support and
advice. To be
a voice for all LGBT students and staff at the University
of Malta. To be all that we
can be for the
betterment of the University putting the focus on the LGBT community.
